Typischer Fehler
Das Gegenstück zu „get in“, also Auto und Taxi. Bei Bus und Zug wäre „get out of the bus“ falsch, dort gilt „get off“. Wird das Fahrzeug genannt, muss „of“ dabeistehen: „get out of the car“; ohne Fahrzeug reicht „get out“. Die zweite Bedeutung verlangt die -ing-Form: „He got out of doing the washing-up.“
