Typischer Fehler
Trennbar, also „cut it off“ und nie „cut off it“. Am Telefon steht das Verb im Passiv: „we got cut off“ oder „I was cut off“ — ein aktives „the call cut off“ klingt schief. Gegen „cut out“ abgrenzen: „cut off“ trennt etwas ab oder unterbricht die Versorgung, „cut out“ schneidet etwas heraus oder lässt es weg.
